Donation Request!

My friend Bunny asked me if I would mind posting this for her and helping out. And of course I don't! If you have anything you are able to donate let me know. Leave comments on my blog, email me, text or call me, whatever works best for you :) Thanks in advance!

Hi Melissa,

I am asking for your help on a project because you know a ton of people….

I am organizing the construction of Literacy Corners in four City Recreation Centers without any budget to do so. City Recreation Centers are a safe place for city youth to go to pursue healthy choices, eat dinner, and to feel safe. Sometimes these centers truly are safe havens for our youth. As a child, books helped bring me personally through adversity. Books offer opportunities for education and limitless indulgence of our notions, dreams, and questions. The Literacy Corners will promote reading and place more books into the fingertips of our community youth, leading to empowered youth interested in reading and education who will grow to be contributing members of our society.

You can help us with this project by donating or asking others in your circle of influence to donate the following new or used items in any quantity and size:

800 Children’s Books for youth ages 6-21

8 Bookshelves

4 Area Rugs

8 Bean Bags/Comfortable Chairs

Would you be willing to forward this email on to your friends and post in your blog/Facebook? The event is scheduled for Friday April 11th, so I would need all donations by the evening of April 10th with notification as soon as possible (just to help with planning). I will arrange pick-up of item(s), and can provide you with a formal request letter and tax deductible receipt. Thank you for your consideration and your assistance!

Thank you,

Bunny (please include my contact info listed below in any forwards/postings)
