Tetris

I would just like to take this opportunity to announce

I AM THE TETRIS QUEEN!

No, really. I am. My high score on Facebook is 406,487. I love playing tetris. But I don't really like to play against other people. No offense, its kinda boring to beat people more often than not!

Jim bought me Tetris party on the WII for Christmas. I've only played it a dozen or so times, and mostly by myself. But on Super BORE Sunday (hahahahah!) Jim and Amanda decided to play a few rounds. After Amanda successfully kicked everyone's butt in the room, I decided maybe there would be an actual challenge there. So I decided to play a few rounds with her. The first round she won, and the following two she lost.

Another person who is just not good enough.

Sorry Manda, I'm awesome. I can't help it.

Where do I begin?!?!

This last week has been filled with so many emotions, so many changes, and so much worship!!

Jim decided to commit his life to Christ last Tuesday night. I've been praying for this for AT LEAST a year, if not longer. It's been an incredible journey. One filled with tears, fear, and mostly, me learning to wait on God's perfect timing. Because that's exactly what it was. God's perfect timing. Jim needs some time to process things, to think things over, and to completely understand before he makes any kind of a commitment. We were dating for three weeks before he would introduce me as anything more than his friend. Nearly four or five months before I met any of his family members(besides Frank and Kristina, who I met the night I met Jim!).

Jim's an incredible man, and Its so incredible to see the change in him.

Jump over to his blog, leave him some words of encouragement :) Who couldn't use that, especially as a new Christian?!

babe- I hope your not embarrassed I posted this. You'll probably read it before I get up tomorrow morning.

also- excuse jim's most recent post- haha. he was not happy about having to reformat our computer. He NEVER talks like that in real life. lol

Bible Study

John 2:25 He did not need man's testimony about man, for he knew what was in a man.

Jim and I have been discussing Who IS Jesus? In our weekly bible study with our pastor, as part of becoming members of Anchor Christian Church.

Last night we talked about how Jesus can see behind our last mask, and he still likes what he sees. How could he not, he sent his only son to die for us. Jesus loves what he see's in all of us, otherwise he wouldn't have died on the cross for our sins.

What an incredible idea! Our savior sees everything about us. All of our wants, our fears, our worries, our joys, our hopes. And he loves us anyways. Enough to send his perfect son to die for us.

Its just incredible to wrap my head around all of this. I've always known it, but to hear it in this way. Its just amazing. I love our church!

Today

Something happened today that I've been waiting for, for nearly three years!

Three years ago I was about to start a new job, and Jim was going out of town, so I had to hook up my alarm clock (I'm hard of hearing, if you didn't know that, so I can't hear a regular alarm clock with my hearing aids out, so I have a special deaf alarm clock). In the middle of the night I rolled over and hit my arm on the edge of the stupid table that my alarm clock was on. Which sent my alarm clock flying into my face, at some time around 2:00am. At about 9:00 that morning when I woke up, my face was swollen and I had apparently broken a tooth. I went to the dentist that day, and had two choices, I could either pull the tooth for $200, or get a root canal for $1,500. Since I was about to start a new job, I didn't have health insurance, and didn't know when exactly I could get insurance. So I opted for pulling it. A decision that resulted in my crying most of the day. Not from the pain, but from the gap I had in my mouth, and the fact that Jim wasn't there to tell me it would be alright.

Fast forward three years, I'm getting married in 166 days (but who's counting!) So I wanted to get my tooth fixed BEFORE I walked down the isle. I got health insurance again recently, through Jim's work, and decided I wasn't going to let the fear of the pain run my life anymore. I did it. I went to the dentist, and started the process for a bridge.

Today I got the bridge installed. I can't tell you how much better I feel about ME now. I can smile without feeling like someone is going to judge me for my missing tooth. Not many people knew that story. It was one I was ashamed to tell for the last three years. But, now I'm happier than I can express. I can smile at my wedding, aAdd Videond not worry about the pictures.

Jim took a few pictures of me tonight, in front of our Christmas tree. Here they are! There's a then, and a now picture, so you can see the difference. I'm SO much happier, and so blessed to have Jim in my life, to care of me, and support me in times that I need him.

Before, not a particularly good picture of Jim or I, but it was the best I could find, since I've been so self-conscious about pictures the last three years, i've barely been photographed from the right side!
And after :-D

Amazed

I'm completely amazed right now. I've never once in my life been all out crying because of something incredible.

Jim and I got in a bit of a fight tonight, because of something he did that I didn't think was appropriate at all. I started crying and saying "I can't do this anymore, I just cant, I need a man who goes to church with me, who knows God like I do, and worships him as much as I do" so jim says to me, so lets do something about that, lets go to that bookstore (alpha and omega) and get me a bible, and then maybe a study we can do together. After a few more minutes of talking about what we wanted to do to fix things in our relationship that were ungodly, we decided to pray together, we pray together regularly, but its usually me praying and jim says amen. But not tonight my friends. Jim prayed too. Tears started rolling down my cheeks when he prayed that he wanted to know God like I do, and he wants to stay on the right path.

When we finished praying, I asked him if I could share one of my favorite worship songs with him. I went down to my car and got the CD, since I couldn't find it on the computer for some reason. I put on "mighty to save". My favorite worship song, at the moment. Being hard of hearing, I've always LOVED watching someone interpret the worship songs, it hits harder to see it in sign language, and hear it. And to me, that's the ultimate form of worship. ( My favorite worship experience, up until tonight was the Michael W. Smith concert right before his first worship album came out in 2001 and I spent two plus hours within 20 feet of Michael W Smith worshiping God. )

So I began signing mighty to save. I looked over at Jim and he was trying to copy sign me. He's been learning sign language, I only needed one look at him before tears filled my eyes, and I felt something so much more incredible than I've ever felt before.

God is truly incredible. Tonight, for the first time ever, I felt like my relationship with Jim was REALLY ok. I wasn't hearing 'patience' anymore.

I cannot wait for tomorrow. Not only is tomorrow my favorite day of the year (seriously! Its better than any other holiday!!) but tomorrow is the day I'm going to alpha and omega with my fiance, to buy him his first christian bible ever.

I'm so relieved now. I can't even tell you the peace that has overcome me. the joy I feel, the excitement to know that we're going to hit the ground running together. Its been so hard for me to be patient in this. But I knew God was working in his heart, I could hear it in his voice when he said amen, in his words when we talked about church, it was just so hard to wait. God knew what he was doing.

I'm in awe of God, I can't even tell you.

He is SO good
