Facing the Giants

Jim and I watched "Facing the Giants" tonight. The movie hit me pretty hard, as well as some other things that have popped up for me in my devotional reading, bible studies, etc in the past week. I guess God's trying to tell me something.

NOTHING is impossible with God. I just need a little more faith to make it through some days. With all the horrible things happening around me, some to my friends, some to my family, and some to my own life, its hard some days not to loose sight of what's important. God. Because nothing is impossible with Him.

We all face giants in our life. There will always be mountains, or stone walls in front of us that we don't know if we have the strength to overcome, but we do. Because with God, all things are possible.

Thank you God, for this wall I WILL overcome. Thank you for the knowledge that I have by going through this circumstance. Help my friends overcome what they are facing, and come out stronger. And help us all to draw closer to you, through all of this.

No matter what happens, no matter what your decisions for Jim and I, we will love you. Now and always.

Drained

Spiritually, and emotionally I've been feeling quite drained lately, and I hate it.

I was listening to K-love the other morning after picking Paige up, and the host was talking about how we often go to the phone before we go to the throne. And that's really been on my heart. When something happens, I tend to go straight to my phone to text one of my friends to pray, but I don't stop and take the time to pray myself first.

A handful of friends are dealing with some really tough stuff. Things that I have been storming the gates of heaven with in prayer. But its so much easier some days to say "hey- can you pray for ----?" instead of praying myself, and really pouring my heart out to God. I keep looking for some resolution in these things- and nothing has come yet. I know God is doing something, He never leaves us hanging. Its just hard when its so many different situations, and so many friends who are hurting.

I need to find a book that will help me refocus on God. Something that will give me the strength I feel like I'm missing right now.

Any suggestions?

Some things...

Well, here I am, not blogging again.

There's so much inside my head and my heart that I don't really even know where to begin, or what to tell you guys. I guess that's my excuse for not blogging. I've always been VERY open about my emotions. But right now, I'm realizing that being so open isn't always a good thing.

I guess the biggest thing being that I HATE Not working. I didn't mind it at first, I kept myself busy, and then I got into a lull where I was sitting home alone everyday, thinking about all the things that have changed since my cortizone shot September 30th. Thinking about our ever dwindling emergency fund, and about all the things we've had to give up. Instead, I should be extraordinarily grateful that we even had an emergency fund, I'm willing to bet most people our age don't have one. Things aren't *that* bad, they could be worse, our bills are paid, and we have a wonderful home. But I hate change, with a passion. I really miss date nights with my husband, walking arm in arm through the mall, going to furniture stores and talking about how we want to decorate our home. Those things are just too depressing knowing we can't afford it, and won't be able to for a while.

I've got a lot of really incredible friends and family members who have taken me out to multiple lunches since I've been off of work, and for that I am forever grateful. Its helped me SO much to get out of the house and spend time with you guys, and not sit at home by myself. I don't do well alone, I'm far too social for alone.

There are so many other things, extraordinarily personal things that I don't really feel comfortable sharing here. Things that have happened in our lives that have brought us so much heartache, and a lot of tears as of late.

But we're trucking through. And we've grown so much closer over the last 13 weeks. I know we can make it through anything, because we have each other and God.

Please, just pray for us, for strength, understanding and peace.
