Dylan

As I sit here, thinking of the last 6 years of my life, one of the best parts was meeting you, and watching you grow into the incredible little boy that you have become. The first time we met was in 2005, you were only 18 months old. And I fell in love with your quicker than I imagined. You were, and are incredibly smart. You amazed me from that very first meeting, knowing animals and all the signs for them in your picture book.

Your smile has always warmed my heart. You smile and the whole room smiles with you. I adore your sense of humor, and your ability to laugh at everything. Below is my favorite picture that I have ever taken of you.

The weekend your parents got married and we came to CT you wouldn't come near me all weekend. It was really odd for you, and made me so sad. Until it was time to say goodbye and you gave me this huge knowing smile. Like you had planned to ignore me all weekend, and that it was a game to you. Not many two year old's could keep a game like that going for 3 days! But, you did it. once again proving just how smart and determined you are.

I will never forget all of the games we played. You attacking me with tickles, running away every time you saw me because you knew I would chase after you and tackle you with hugs and kisses.

Balloon sword fights with Uncle Jim at yours and Marissa's combined birthday party a few years ago. Squeals of laughter are a regular with you. Uncle Jim(although he wasn't your uncle until a year ago!) also adored you from the moment he met you. After I knew what I was missing out on, I made every effort to come see you, your mommy and daddy as much as possible.

Over thanksgiving you learned how to build lego towers with Uncle Adam and Aunt Sara...and then knock them down. You thought it was absolutely hysterical and sat on the floor with them for a long time doing it. You have so much more patience to play with toys than most kids I know, and an absolute fascination for all things dinosaur. Although, I think you're outgrowing the dinosaurs and getting more into legos.

To this day your smile absolutely melts my heart.

Thank you for being an amazing nephew and member of our family.

I love you so much sweet boy.We hope you always know how much we love you, and always will. You will always and forever be my nephew. Love you sweet boy. Never forget that. Happy birthday!!

Love,
Aunt Missie and uncle Jim
