Two book Reviews in one post!

I finished book two and three in the series I recently posted about. A Voice in the Wind by Francine Rivers

An Echo in the Darkness is PHENOMENAL. I don't want to spoil it, because a big part of the book picks up where A Voice in the Wind left off. Its an absolutely incredible book. I learned so much about God, and what I'm striving for in my relationship with him. It was incredible to see the parallels between my relationship with God, and the relationships with God developed in the story. Even though the story is set in Rome just after Jesus' crucifixion.

The third book in the series, As Sure as the Dawn, takes one of the minor characters from the first and second and makes him a major character. I loved seeing the miracles performed, that were 100% God Centered. To feel what the characters felt as they were going through these trials. And to submerse myself in their culture and to understand how they felt in their persecution of being Christians in the Germania and Romanian culture.

Here is an excerpt from the third novel. Its all put in such simple terms and its so easy to understand.

"Look upon Atretes' as a child in faith. He's learning to walk by faith, the way Caleb learned to walk on his two legs. Remember how he stumbled and fell over at first. Sometimes he hurt himself. He was clumsy. He went where he shouldn't go. And often he cried in frustration. . . . look at him now. Everyday his feet are more sure."

I don't know why, but that section of the novel really stuck in my head. I read it several times over and over again.

I highly recommend the series. They're long books, about 500 pages each, but its so easy to get caught up in the story. I read all three in about 3 weeks.

God is SO good. SO SO good!!! His love is incredible. And I learned so much about him through this series. Its definitely one I will be reading again as soon as I can afford to buy it! :)
