All my life by academic counselors I've been told that there is no way I'd make it through college, so if I graduate from high school, and get a decent job, that's as successful as I'll ever be. Back when I was a naive child, I believed it. I believed that because I am deaf, I would never have the things in life I desire for myself.
Then three years ago, I decided, I COULD do it. I Could get my degree, and get a good job, and be the person I have always dreamed of being.
Tonight, I feel like I'm further from that dream than ever. I worked SO hard in this math class I took, SO hard. I froze on the final, and failed it, and now the last 15 weeks have been thrown out the window. I'm so mad at myself, so discouraged.
Now, I can't help but wonder if maybe they were right. Maybe I'm not smart enough to do this.

well, look at it this way. you're not a math major! did you get good grades in the classes that are actually for your major? That's what's really important... i got crappy grades for the most part in my non-program classes. that's what college is for, so you can do what you are GOOD AT... it just so happens that there are necessary courses on the way... you'll figure something out. and you will graduate. if you set your mind to it, you totally will
You can do it. Don't freak because you faltered one time. Just get back up and try again. I have faith :)
Don't freak out!!!! You can do it!!! You are not stupid!!!!!
Oh, I am so sorry you failed your test - I know how discouraging that is!!! Phillipians 4:8 says
Whatever things are TRUE, whatever things are NOBLE, whatever things are JUST, whatever things are PURE, whatever things are LOVELY, whatever things are OF GOOD REPORT, if there is any virure and if there is anything PRAISEWORTHY meditate on these things.
YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE HE WILL SEE YOU THROUGH THIS, ALTHOUGH IT IS SUCH A DIFFICULT THING TO GO THROUGH HIS STRENGTH WILL BE MADE PERFECT IN your weakness.
PRAYING FOR YOU MY FRIEND & THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS POST, I needed to be reminded of this verse. & The Lord used you to bring it to my rememberance. YOU ARE A Vessel for His choosing & will bring Him honor & Glory by the testimony of your daily life!!
Marie
What can I say that hasn't already been said?
You're brilliant. Don't let anyone tell you any different. Those counselors were idiots. I can't believe they would even say that to you!
Stay the course.
Don't get discouraged.
Not all of us are good at math (me included).
I'll be praying for you.
Math on line is HARD!!!!!Don't get discouraged. I too failed my math class at MCC but I took it at brockport and got a B+. Try again you can do it! I have faith in you!
Missy-the girl I know would not let anything stop you, you would stand up and pull your sleeve and get what you want.
Dont let that stop you. Its YOUR dream, YOUR goal and YOUR passion not other people.
What you should do, accept it and you are going to do it AGAIN and you will definately pass it. No matter how hard it is, you will find a way.
Hello,
I'm interested in advertising on your blog http://mjjm2009.blogspot.com/. At the moment, I'm looking for intext links. Do you write paid posts? How much does it cost?
My website provides information on credit deals and ways to manage one's finances.
Waiting for your reply.
pLease, contact me on barbara@acclaimnetwork.com
If at first you don't succeed, try try again! You can do it! (I hate math too!)
"For as he thinks in his heart, so is he."
You are not stupid - that is such a lame lie that the devil uses to trip us up and get us of of God's course. Don't give in to him - "he (satan)comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10
You can do it!!! Just set your mind to what is true!! :)
